The straight-edge blade makes wider slices for chips, scalloped potatoes or thinly sliced onion. The coarse-toothed blade makes chunky 7-millimeter wide cuts. Both the medium-toothed blade (2.5-millimeter wide cuts) and fine-toothed blade (1-millimeter wide cuts) are ideal for long, narrow julienne or matchstick strips, for hashbrowns, shoestring potato nests, zoodles (zucchini spaghetti strands) and stir frys. Snap in the desired blade, hold the mandoline slicer by the handle, and slice directly into a bowl or onto a work surface.
